This beautful hanging decoration has been tatted by my mum :-)
 
Tatting is a dying art but one that my mum still practices. It involves the tying of knots and loops using thread wrapped around a shuttle (which is eye-shaped). This item took several hours over several days and can be used as a decoration, hung up on a shelf or wall at home. It can also be used as a bookmark and a keyring. 
 
The motif is approximately 7cm long (excluding the tassel) and between 7-8cm wide at its widest point. It is red, and including the tassel 16cm long.
